Dugi Rat

Poljica had been divided in three parts: Gornja Poljica, by the mountain Mosor, which has always symbolized liberty and the spite for strange conquerors, Middle Poljica which was known by its fertile soil and relative wealth, and Lower (Primorska) Poljica with its orientation to the sea and the navigation.

The municipality Dugi Rat is part of the Lower Poljica. The mountain Mosnjica is on the northern side, and on the southern side the channel of Brac.

Duce beach

The municipality Dugi Rat (with around 7.000 inhabitants) is ideal located on the sea-side between two town centers, the little and picturesque town Omis and the big Split, a town with cultural and historical sights.

The chaplet of hills covered with pine-forests, which stretches to the beaches, makes this landscape especially beautiful. There are gravel and sandy beaches near the whole length of the coast.

You can recognize the village Duce by its marvelous sandy beaches which stretches in an uninterrupted length on 4 km and with little bays creates a natural phenomenon.

Krilo

Big attractions of this area are the old villages. They are special because of their rural architecture. Beside stony houses, these villages have roads, paths and little squares, which are generally by the church or school and fields. Every village has its own historical sights. So there are old churches, old rural graveyards and bell-towers.

The green landscape, clean air, climate and a wonderful view on the sea and the islands is something what will impress every visitor.

The pensions, apartments, rooms, and camps with more than 5.000 beds, and restaurants with domestic specialties and wines enable a pleasant stay and holiday along the whole coast. The tourists can also try various recreational activities, adventures on river Cetina, sports on the water...

The area of the municipality Dug Rat is ideal for development projects in tourism.

According to the new urban plan, in Dugi Rat will be build an elite hotel and marina with a service for mega-yacht-and hotels in Duce. In the old villages are exist prerequisites for the development of rural tourism. The building of a tourist settlement is planned in the village Duce.

Fishermans

The painting-club of Poljica "Krug" is active in the area. It has totally 40 members, which make paintings and sculptures.

The Cultural summer of Dugi Rat organized every year in the summer with many manifestations and various cultural articulations: drama, concerts, exhibitions and the children festival Golden Voice of Poljica/ Zlatni glas Poljica.
